Fraudsters steal money from Bonang’s cousin Pinky Girl

Tebogo Mekgwe known as ‘Pinky Girl’ said she recently lost R6 000, after a debit card fraudster withdrew money from her bank account.

The same incident once occurred to her cousin, Bonang Matheba, who is a South African TV personality and businesswoman. Bonang was defrauded R75 000, she claimed that the money was withdrawn from her account without her knowledge.

Mekgwe said money does not come easy, so one has to think twice before spending it.

“The worst part is when someone just takes it from someone who had worked hard for it. I got alerts on my cellphone indicating that someone had fraudulently withdrawn R6 000 from my bank account. This criminals started withdrawing R100, then R3 000 and another R3 000. I am so stressed and I had to call the bank to block my card,” said Mekgwe.

Mekgwe said she has never experienced this kind of defraud before.

“I am careful with money because I work hard for it.” she said.
