Eskom customers should brace themselves for stage 6 load-shedding that will take place this week.
According to Eskom stage 6 means 6000 MW will be dropped from the grid to the system becoming unbalanced. Gauteng residents could be without electricity for an average of 10 hours a day.
Andre de Ruyter, the new CEO of Eskom, was supposed to start work on 15 January but was under pressure due tothe state of the power utility and was forced to assume his duties earlier than scheduled.
De Ruyter is expected to make major changes as Eskom is facing power supply problems but South Africans are yet to see plans and solutions for the constant load-shedding taking place.
