Justice and Employment Party (JEP) is in town and they are here to stay. The party’s
mandate is to eradicate unemployment, bringing about justice, ending corruption and
advocating entrepreneurship in education. Founded by Alex Mchunu in 2017, JEP is
amongst 563 political parties registered for the national and municipality elections,
and the new party will be participating in all 9 provinces.
President Mchunu announced, JEP will be hosting their first campaign in Soweto on
February 2019, and the party will be doing door to door campaigns as they will be
listening to the people’s concerns. The president added, “We are ready to challenge
the government with the state of unemployment in our country and we need to
change the education system, as it will assist in eradicating unemployment in this
country. We need to stop teaching our children that they need to go to tertiary to
work for someone else. We need to instil self-reliance to our people and introducing
entrepreneurship in our curriculum is the only solution”.
Mchunu who is currently based in Braamfischer, but originally from Kwa-Zulu Natal is
very passionate about justice and ending corruption. “We need get rid of criminals
and dirty politicians in our communities. JEP believes a person who committed
murder must be convicted 30 years as a minimum sentence to life imprisonment”,
Said Mchunu. The elections will be held in May 2019 and the IEC is still to announce
the official election date.
