Major water pipe burst in Fourways

Johannesburg Water teams attended to a major burst that happened on Tuesday evening on William Nicol drive that affected supply to Craigavon, Fourways Gardens, Dainfernand parts of Kengies. 

The water supply was isolated to the affected section and excavation had been completed. The team attended to a collapsed sewer line and incidentally broke a water line which was pressurized during excavation. Repairs were reported to be in progress at the time of publishing.

“As per our license condition Johannesburg Water dispatched our laboratory teams to the scene to conduct water quality tests on the line, and interim results show no contamination on the water”, said Communications Manager Isaac Dhludhlu.
