Botched hijacking at Kyalami

2020 has already begun on a sour note regarding crime and it does not seem as if the evil streak can be halted anytime soon. On Tuesday afternoon a couple driving a Nissan X-trail were victims of a botched hijacking at the intersection of Main Road and Maple Road near Midrand.

The husband and wife had stopped at a red traffic light when they were allegedly accosted by two armed men who attempted to gain entry into the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled down and landed in a ditch where shots were allegedly fired by the suspects. The husband was killedand the wife sustained wounds in the ordeal.

The suspects fled in a white A4 Audi and police are still looking for them urging the public to come forward should they have any information that might lead to arrests.
