An exciting project is taking place at Molapo, Soweto where residents have been given an opportunity to participate in the construction of a new bridge.
Councillor of ward 34 Shimmane Motlhamme announced to community members that crimes occurring on the railway, next to Nhlanzani train station, would be reduced by building a bridge for residents. This will also assist in curbing deaths and accidents on the railway.

Community members expressed their joy and excitement for the new project, “We are very happy to be part of the project and it’s good to see young people getting employed because unemployment in Molapo is very rife. This tender provided my son with employment and it makes a huge difference because I was the only one working at home”, said Buhle Tshabalala a resident from Molapo.
Gauteng News is informed that the project will continue for six months, however, the site manager was unavailable for comment. “I am very grateful to have a job because now I am able to provide for my family. I was unemployed for 4 years. We are glad the community benefits from projects that take place in our neighbourhood”, said Thabo Mofokeng.
