One suspect arrested after Hawks find drugs worth R1.5 million

A 52-year-old man has been nabbed by Hawks for being in possession of drugs worth approximately R1.5 millionrecently. The suspect is due to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court facing charges of illegal dealing and possession in drugs this coming Monday. This arrest was reported by Hawks Spokesperson Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu on Friday.

Mulamu said a search and seizure warrant was issued by the court and during execution. She said the police confiscated suspected crystal meth and heroin drugs readily packaged with an estimated street value of R1.5 million and over R10 000-00 in cash.

“Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team in Pretoria conducted an intelligence driven operation at Wingate Park in Pretoria East which resulted in the apprehension of the alleged drug dealer,” Mulamu said. 

She stated that the suspect was later charged with illegal dealing and possession of drugs. Investigation continues.
