Primrose copper thieves nabbed


Four men have been arrested for stealing copper cables in Primrose, Ekurhuleni.

SAPS Primrose along with Ekhurhuleni District Task Team arrested the suspected copper thieves between the ages of 25 and 37 on Wednesday.

Police reportedly followed up on information regarding the suspects accused for the stolen property in Primrose.

The information linked to the theft case led the team to an identified address where a copper cable and two weighing scales were recovered.

The three suspects along with the owner of the residential property were arrested and are currently facing charges of theft, possession of suspected stolen property and tampering with essential information.

Officials have once again reminded the public that copper cable theft is a crime in the country and urged them to speak out against infrastructure damage.
