Hier kom die bokke! If patriotism is something you’re not familiar with then clearly the initial proclamation made went your head. The Springboks are finally through to the Rugby World Cup and it’s all thanks to their stunning performance against Wales yesterday.
It’s been a long journey indeed from succumbing to a defeat against the all blacks and rising once again to claim a spot in the semi-finals. Wales was a tough team as expected but the boks proved to be even tougher with the resilience they displayed throughout the match.
At some point scrumhalf Faf de Klerk got into a scuffle with Welsh lock Jake Ball, to the fans’ excitement, as de Klerk is considerably shorter than Ball but his courage and eagerness to take on the whole Welsh team was admirable.
The final score was 19-16 with South Africa winning by a narrow margin after an intense game. The Boks are now looking to defeat England in the final after the latter crushed the legendary all blacks last week. If South Africa wins the final it will be their third time lifting the coveted cup.
HIER KOM DIE BOKKE!!!
