The search for next Miss Mamelodi Sundown is on

The Miss Mamelodi Sundowns pageant began in 2010, and today it has become one of the most coveted titles in South Africa. Birthed from a desire to empower women through a platform usually dominated by men, Miss Mamelodi Sundowns is one of the football clubs’ CSI initiatives and focuses on empowering women throughout the country.

Unlike other pageants in the country, Miss Mamelodi Sundowns prides itself in making sure that each province is represented in the national finals. Auditions are held nationwide and are free. Heartwarming stories have emerged over the years of young women being able to finish their tertiary education with the prize money from this pageant, others have been able to build their parents homes or even start their businesses.

“Our hearts are for young women in South Africa. Although our roots are in football, we have a passion for uniting and empowering every race, creed and culture in our beautiful land. The reigning Miss Mamelodi Sundowns queen, Faith Nonyane, will soon hand over the crown to her successor and we are currently looking for the perfect queen to take over from her. The last leg of the pageant’s nine provinces-nine cities auditions will be held this Saturday at Morning Star Express Hotel, 327 Visagie St, Pretoria Central from 08:00 Auditioning for the pageant is free and prizes include a brand new car and a R310,00.00 cash prize.” said Angela Kubheka who is the project coordinator for Miss Mamelodi Sundowns.

Here’s to a bright future of discovering and empowering South African women!
