Joburg City Theatres and the industry at large mourns the passing of NondumisoSithole, who was the Community & Youth Development Manager for Joburg Theatre.
She passed on Friday, 15 February at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.Nondumiso had over 9 years’ experience in the performing arts sector including working as a freelance arts administrator and was a catalyst and advocate for youth development in the industry.
She truthfully described herself as being helpful by nature and passion driven with the ability to see the world a little bit differently and able to get buy-in from her associates.
Prior to joining Joburg Theatre in December 2015, she served as Marketing Manager at Roodepoort Theatre in 2014. As the Community & Youth Development Manager she managed school programmes, Youth Festivals and Education programmes aimed at development of the performing arts.
Her career highlights include being Project Manager for Arts Alive office, Content Researcher, at Zethu Arts cc – MamelodiRondavel campus, Project Manager, Sibojama Theatre Pty Ltd – Arts Alive Theatre programme, Project Coordinator, Free at Last Productions – ZimnandiIzinganekwane, Project Administrator, The Market Theatre Foundation and a Publicity Intern for the Performing Arts Center of the Free State (PACOFS).
The management and colleagues at Joburg City Theatre send heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
Her memorial service will be held at Joburg Theatre today Tuesday, 19 February 2019 at 18h00. Her burial will take place in Herschel, Eastern Cape on 2 March 2019, time is to be confirmed by her family.
