The youth of Krugersdorp are on a mission to donate sanitary pads to young girls in their area.
Bafedile Letsholathebe(22) and 24 year old Siyabonga Dhlamini identified a need to provide sanitary pads to girls in their kasi and surrounding areas
Though the project was founded a month ago, several girls have already benefited from the selfless gesture by Letsholathebe and Dhlamini, who subsidise the project by digging from their own pockets to buy the sanitary pads. They also rely on good Samaritans who also donate as they believe in their noble cause.
Letsholathebe says that most girls who cannot afford sanitary pads resort to desperate measures to get money for these basic necessary items. According to Letsholathebe some girls risk contracting infections from using newspapers and toilet rolls. “Females need pads more than anything, we need to assist those who need help during these tough times,” she said.

House distributions are the only means to reach out to the needy girls in and around Krugersdorp due to the current Covid-19 movement restrictions.
The initiative includes educating young girls about puberty, personal hygiene and building self-confidence.
The project does not have any official sponsors. Those who wish to donate should contact:
