The Springboks are through to the semi-finals and at the rate they’re playing, it seems as though, a spot in the finals is imminent. This comes after they thrashed this year’s Rugby World Cup hosts, Japan, with a score of 26-3 on Sunday.
You’d think Sundays are meant to be laid back and reserved for resting but that was not the case with this particular one. The Springboks electrified the field and kept the fans on their toes throughout the entire game.

South Africa had a score to settle since they had lost to Japan in the previous world cup by a stretch of 34-32. At the time Japan were considered underdogs who were unlikely to defeat the boks hence that match was nicknamed Miracle of Brighton.
South Africa exuded confidence from the onset and dominated most of the match while preventing Japan from scoring tries with an aggressive defense. Wing MakazoleMapimpi showed no mercy when he scored a try early in the first half making it seem effortless in the process.
Two penalties scored by Handre Pollard riled up the fans who were eager to see more points being added to the Boks’ scoresheet. Mapimpi solidified their victory when he scored his second try 10 minutes before the final whistle making the final score 26-3.
The Springboks will be facing off with Wales this coming Sunday, 27 October, at 10:00 CAT.
